First off, I want to say that just because January is the first month of the year does not mean you have to accomplish everything you’ve set out to do for the year. When the clock strikes twelve on December 31st, there’s a lot of expectations that flood in. A lot of people take the new year as an opportunity to change things for the better. Which is a great thing! The downside to expectation is that if you don’t see immediate gratification, it can be disheartening.
I want to remind you that just because things don’t change drastically or you haven’t reached your goals yet in the first few months of the year doesn’t mean that you haven’t made progress!
Progress is measured differently for different people, and the only person that really matters in terms of your progress is you.
Now, I’ve found that the most effective way to accomplish any task is by breaking it down into small, actionable goals. Then once you reach those goals, make sure to celebrate (you deserve that mani pedi, girl)!
Now, since we’re talking about yearly accomplishments, I love breaking things down monthly. I personally use a page from my planner each month to write down my main goals for the month. I like to break it down into categories like health, school, blog, etc. Hope this helps!
That’s wonderfully encouraging! Thanks!
Thanks for the words of encouragement. You rock! And so does that dress 🙂
Such an encouraging post! I like to set micro goals as well, it helps me get things done without feeling overwhelmed!
I agree! Small pieces definitely make a goal seem more achievable!
I love everything about this (especially that dress omg!). Great message that I think is so important for everyone to understand!
Using a planner is a great idea, it really helps a lot! Gorgeous bright photos in this post, love them!
